Coming from a maintainer of the postgresql lists... ;)  Or at least,  
I assume, since hub.org is involved in the postgresql mailing lists....

In the end, it depends on what you are most familiar with maintaining  
- - I obviously don't know how to tune and maintain a large postgresql  
installation, or every postgresql install I've been called upon to  
fix has been horrible.    Mysql obviously works very well for some  
large sites, and I've never had any instability with it.... YMMV.

I would love to learn more about making postgresql work better  
though. :)
