[Maia-users] Login seems to fail, but manual edit of url gets to welcome page

Apparently after doing yet another major update for SuSE10.1, Maia seemed 
to fail at every login. The empty Maia Debug Window would pop up and not 
finish loading.

Manually editing the URL to remove the  "xlogin.php" from the file path, 
the welcome.php page comes up without fail.  Somehow, authenticated access 
is being redirected to the failed access page.  After this, the site works 
perfectly.

Any pointers on where to check to see what's going wrong.
