Perfect, thanks ... I was looking in the amavisd.conf file vs the GUI for (2) 
:(  I have mine set to 1M right now, which would explain the 'max(size)' return 
value ...

Agreed about linking the two automatically ... but, your reasoning only works 
*if* you have it set to reject ... one thought for a future release would be to 
move this to a per-user setting though ... let each mailbox decide what to do 
with oversized emails?  And at what size?  Instead of it being system wide ...
