Renaissoft, Inc. (est. 1993) is a software development company devoted to bringing together the elements of art and science, after the examples of Renaissance masters such as Leonardo DaVinci and El Greco. We create virtual worlds using the very latest technologies, tempered with the time-tested wisdom of artistic engineering, to deliver games that feel as good as they look.
We haven't always been a game company, however. In Renaissoft's early years the company was a one-man consultancy, focusing largely on developing software for Internet and intranet applications, network fax software, and a variety of contributions to open-source software projects, many related to the Linux operating system. We provided Web design and hosting services at one time, specializing in medium- to large-scale database-driven Web sites. We even dabbled for a time with the development of IVR (Interactive Voice Response) telephony applications for Windows and Linux platforms.
Ultimately, though, designing computer games is what we've always wanted to do. Our varied history has brought us expertise in a lot of different fields, including TCP/IP networking, 3D graphics, physics, artificial intelligence, encryption, architecture, and more, all of which are being brought to bear in our game engines, developer support tools, and of course the game worlds themselves.
